Finding Your Way at the Medical Centers

Gainesville (Malcom Randall) VAMC

The Gainesville (Malcom Randall) VA Medical Center is made up of 5 floors and 7 sections - A, B, C, D, E, F, and G. Room numbers and patient wards all have one of these letters. For example, room E347 would be in the E section and on the third floor. There are maps and signs on walls throughout the hospital that will point you in the right direction. Shuttle service to and from parking areas is available.

The main hospital is divided into 4 quadrants by letter. The main entrance (northeast quadrant) is section A, the southeast quadrant by the nursing home is section B, the southwest quadrant is section C, and the northwest quadrant is section D. To the west of the main hospital is the E wing. The west end of the hospital (ambulatory care entrance, north side; basement entrance, west side by general patient parking) contains sections F and G. The Bed Tower is in front of the original hospital building (on the North side), facing Archer Road. Valet parking is available at the Ambulatory Care Entrance (northwest corner of building) - for more information visit our Parking page. Disabled parking is available on the southwest side of the hospital facing Southwest 16th Avenue.

Lake City VAMC

The Lake City VA Medical Center is made up of several adjacent buildings. Ample visitor parking is provided for each of the patient care areas, and shuttle service to and from parking areas is available. Maps and signs are posted throughout the hospital to assist you in finding your way.

If you have problems, please ask any employee or pick up a red courtesy phone for assistance.

The Lake City VA Medical Center's main entrance is on South Marion Avenue. The ambulatory care entrance is on Baya Avenue. The nursing home entrance is on the east side of the medical center. General patient parking is available off Baya Avenue on the northeast side of the medical center. Disabled parking is available in marked lots.
