VA Awards Major Lease for Jacksonville Clinic

September 28, 2020

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) awarded the lease for a new replacement outpatient clinic in Jacksonville, Florida on September 28, 2020.

The major lease was authorized under the VA Choice and Quality Employment Act of 2017 (“Choice 2.0”) and will expand and enhance health care services for Veterans.

The lease will include approximately 164,054 net usable square feet (NUSF) outpatient care facility and provide 1,150 parking spaces. “The new facility will replace the Jacksonville VA SouthPoint and Jacksonville VA University sites of care”, stated Chad Adams, North Florida/ South Georgia Veterans Health System Associate Director. “The facility located on Jefferson Street will remain fully operational”.

The project will allow VA to enhance primary care, mental health, and expand onsite Radiology, Optometry and Audiology services. The multi-specialty rooms included in the project will assist in expanding women’s health services and telehealth, among other specialties. The project also will include domiciliary space for Veteran residential care in the Jacksonville area.

“Moving forward with this clinic is a top priority for our organization, as Jacksonville is our fastest growing market” said North Florida/ South Georgia Veterans Health System Director, Thomas Wisnieski. “Modernizing our VA clinics is in the best interest of our Veteran patients and we are excited for the opportunity to improve our facilities to meet their needs”.

The clinic will be located on the Northwest Corner of Hyatt Road & Max Leggett in Jacksonville, Florida.
