Effective Immediately: You may submit your new study to the IRB and to your Grant Support Specialists simultaneously. This may reduce the approval processing time on the VA side.

Reporting a Research Safety Concern?
If you feel that any investigator or study personnel have performed research in a way that is noncompliant with VA Safety policies, you should file a report (containing as much specific factual information as possible--what, when, where, by who?) with either your supervisor or the Research Compliance Officer. To report to the Research Compliance Officer, send a written statement to the Research Compliance Officer, Mail Stop 151. Confidentiality will be maintained to the greatest extent possible. A report may also be filed anonymously.

Who: All NEW VA Research Service employees, research investigators, and all WOCs engaged in research.
When: The fourth Wednesday of each month from 9:00 to 10:00 am.
Where: Research Service Conference Room, E526. This is both a JCAHO and VA requirement within 90 days of employment. Pre-registration is not required for this orientation.
