Geriatrics and Extended Care

Pharmacy

Our pharmacy processes more than 5000 prescriptions daily. Prescriptions may be refilled by mail, phone, or online. Read more about our pharmacy program.

Primary Care

Research

Social Work

Spinal Cord Injury

Our spinal cord injury program assists patients who have suffered spinal cord injuries to enhance their health, improve functional abilities, and maintain quality of life. Read more about our spinal cord injury program.

Surgical

Our Surgical Service offers ten surgical subspecialties (e.g., cardiothoracic, ophthalmology, vascular). Read more about our Surgical Service.

Telehealth

The term "Telehealth" means using modern technology to provide clinical care and patient education when the patient and provider are in separate locations.  Our telehealth program is used to improve veterans' access to specialty care and services in VA clinics that are located close to their homes.  Read more about our telehealth program.

Telephone Care

We offer telephone care programs providing quality patient care and customer service.  Many times your health care needs may be taken care of by phone or directed to your primary care provider.  Often times, we can save you a trip to the medical center.  (This is not an emergency service.  If you have a medical emergency, dial 911.)  Read more about our Telephone Care Programs

  • Anesthesiology Service
    • Clinical Anesthesia
    • Pain Control

    The Anesthesiology Service at the North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System provides services to patients requiring surgical, diagnostic, or other procedures requiring anesthesia, acute or emergent life support problems and acute perioperative pain management.  A pain management clinic  is available as a consultation service for patients with chronic pain.

    Quality services to veterans are provided in a safe, efficient, and patient-focused environment.  In collaboration with the University of Florida Medical School, the department provides education and training to resident anesthesia providers and conducts and publishes clinical research studies.
